A professional dreamer is simultaneously the most organized of all artists and the most spontaneous. Dreaming professionally, so that one's dreams can be recorded and played back for the entertainment of others, is a much more demanding proposition. Like the majority of us, these seven dreamt without effort or discipline. Professional dreamers are highly paid, respected, much sought-after talents. Not to give anything away, but even the most unobservant reader will soon realize that something's suspicious about these alluring aliens-especially when 600,000 colonists on the otherwise boring outpost of Treetrunk are swiftly, brutally, and mysteriously exterminated.You must understand that they were not professional dreamers. But everything isn't what it seems, of course, or there wouldn't be much of a story here.
